Yo bros! Just back from Manila. And first up, I didn't explore the seedy parts this time as I was holed up with the girl. She even brought me to Insomnia at my request as some of her colleagues go there quite regularly. Didn't hit Icon/Rep/7th High or any other places as we met (her) friends and made new friends too.

Macapagal is a cool stop for dinner (format: pick your seafood, let the restaurant cook it) before you hit Insomnia. There's David Tea House (chain dim sum restaurant) near Insomnia too and closes at around 3am (I think).

I went to Insomnia on Saturday and Monday (yes, still happening). There was this dance event and despite booking a table for 3.5k pesos (you can book a table for about 1.5K), we still had to pay for entry. Was annoyed but at 200p for guys and 100p for girls, you don't want to break out in a hissy fit.

As per what bros say, Insomnia is a great place - pumpin' music, gyrating bodies and friendly staff. Things that piss me off: Korean guys (I'm not against Koreans or anything but the dudes who patronise this place generally purchase 1 beer and hope that a kimchi-krazed Pinay hits them), some over-friendly staff and the beggars outside (security takes care of that).

However, I'm not so sure if it's a "pick-me-up" kind of place. Yes, there are working girls here. One of my girl's friend's friend happens to work in MBC (actually I also saw this 'friend' there before and hopefully she doesn't expose me in front of my girl later) and I was given the opportunity to talk to her. I was saying that Insomnia is infamous because guys want 'freebies' since there are some WLs like her but apparently, she said, "No way" to all. She has been approached by many guys in the club but not once has she gone on a ONS.

Having said that, my girl's friend who is one of the aforementioned kimchi-krazed Pinays picked up a Korean in the club and of course they went out together. Turns out the Korean is actually Taiwanese, LOL.

The place was also dark so it's kinda hard to scrutinize a face, but if you are not a face person, then go by the silhouettes.

So I would say no, Insomnia is not a good pick-up place. Least not for me. But if you want to experience the locals' idea of fun, then by all means, go there.

Disclaimer - I was occupied with the girl so my opinions may be skewed.

Finally got the time to post my FR for my trip over.

A few thank you goes out to the bros that recommended the hotel.
Choose Riviera Mansion hotel and it was like within walking distance to MBC.
Rooms are not bad, not to mention quite economical. was like 4250 per room for 2 days and night. Extension after the normal 12 noon checkout is at 100 per hour. So late night flight bro can plan nicely.

Club
My friend went there for a few times but none of the girls approached him. No scoring. He also tried a couple of the nightclubs but generally eye candy but no scoring. So scratch one off the list

MBC
My chiongster bro and I just kept going here. From our observation, those other night club just outside our hotel looks kinda like hei dian. So we didn't want to risk going. My first night and easily scored a pretty babe there but being noob, was kinda con and paid 3k for long time but she left at around 4am saying that she had to go work at 9am. Zzz.

Went again after 1pm, this time really score a couple of babes. We were hoping to go swapping exercise later then one of the babe's half sister came. Wah nice boob size and was zap by her. In the end paid tip to my original girl and took this half sister instead.

Overall a nice trip for a newbie chionging overseas for the first time. Thanks the bros that offered tips and guidance to help with my research for the first trip.

We are planning to head back again. Heard that it's possible to get uni girls at some other places for around 1.2 to 1.5k. Definately will explore more and hope the experienced bros can give tips to see where's more action than MCB

Yea, just make sure that you yourself go and pay when picking the seafood, a lot of the restaurants, will give you a blanket "market" rate which is several times the actual value of the seafood. And always bargain bargain bargain. But don't get angry and pissy, just ask for good price with a :)

tip - avoid the first restaurant, can't rem the name, but it has a green signboard, it's always less than half full for good reason, they can't really cook that well , lol

oh didn't know you could book a table, honestly speaking when i went, my pinay friends always ask the staff to clear off a table for them, then magically one table would appear even if the place is crowded -- not sure how they do it.

can't imagine a dance competition taking place at insomnia, since the place is kinda small, but hey, crowded = more chance to rubba :D
