Yes, I agree with E8 food house.

The case is a little weak with little details and definition of terms. You can consult a lawyer, but good ones don't come cheap. You are looking at around $300-$450 per hour of advice for the top 5 firms in Singapore.

Ask your friend to speak to the current boss, check reaction then see how. But I always feel that after you make it known that you are going to leave, you should not hang around even if the old boss offers more money.

The traditional / old fashioned boss (sorry, making assumptions here) will be making alternate plans already.

Anyway, my 2 cents worth.

By the way,

Merry Christmas everyone.

Dear Bro,

Basically, i assume the contract did not have an exit clause, thus no penalty is imposed even though she exits. However, it would be normal for a person to give one or two months notice or in lieu of the salary she receive as some form of compensation.

In addition, if she is a singaporean, then she would have check if the employer contributes CPF thus the basis of her CPF can be used as the monthly salary.

Basically, I think it is okay to leave the former and join the latter.

regards

Be patient. BOSS has no time to automate his feature yet. When it is available, you may mistaken that BOSS is reading every of the threads.:p

Fully agreed with you. Even then, the content and context of the contract is equally important. Thus, provided the threadstarter can share with us what was drafted in the contract, we are able to fully advise him.

The best option is, get the girl to talk and discuss with the boss amicably to settle the problem.
