One of them is a girl i've known for a while now, got to know her during car show model. The others are close friends of hers. 1 or 2 of them have worked or are working in expensive type of jap KTV joint. No taobao / take out/ bar fine kind, just sit and talk to customer (go figure...). Easy money however, they can earn from 1.5 - 2k php per night (that's from the club) and get additional for each drink their guests order AND they get to keep all tips from guests -> them.

Based on my "expert" calculations, hot girl can earn upwards of 60k easily per month since the club opens 6 days a week (since drinks charge and tips should be at least 500php per night).

It's no wonder these hotties would rather work in the JAP ktv business than get a regular job. Plus there's always an off chance that they can hook a big fish aka cai tao.

Icon always had that wee bit reputation, other than the days when it gets booked out for 'events' .. ;) After all, being at Intercon, no prize for guessing that is a magnet for FLs trying to grab a 'decent' foreigner ..

then again, a few girls like to boast like they know ..

Meet up the DIA girl who brought 2 cousin (1 male and 1 female) on my last Manila trip on Saturday. She suggest going to a local disco joint along Quirino Road in Paranaque as it is walking distance from her house. I told her I don't know that place and if it is safe for foreigner or not, she assure me I be okay.

She came and pick me up from the hotel with one of the female 'cousin' on the previous trip at 1am. After talking to her the 2 cousins are actually her friends and NOT cousin as etsys guessed!

The disco joint itself is rundown but have decent live band.Typical filipino local disco. P100 entry fee with 1 free SML. I can't remember the exact name of the club but it is opposite the Caltex Petrol Station at Corner of T Claudio Road and Quirino Road from Goggle Map. The opposite of this disco bar is a KTV or strip joint according to the girls. Seem to be a cheap alternative for FL if you have local friends with you. Saw a number of disco like O time Cafe when taking taxi along Quirino Road.

The Dance Music are so so. It is pretty crowded and I saw local guys pick up the girls there and then go dance together. The drinks are cheap. Spend a grand total of only P800 for 8 bottles of San Miguel Light, Chicken Wings, Fries and Sisig. SML is P40 per bottle. Spend the night eat, hugged, kissed and dance with the DIA girl during the time there. A lot of GFF now but As usual she is shy and don't want to go back with me but it is okay as I have early appointment next day. I enjoy the courtship rather than straight on screw in the hotel.

Warning is that the Disco pub have a lot of Bakla and Gays!!!!! As I am the only chinese looking guy and foreigner there, I received a lot of attention from the Bakla!! I don't recommend explore this part of Manila for the clubs if you are newbie though. Just sharing of experience.

Will PM you shortly. For entries, it depends on the type of tables. If you trust my judgement, the gold table is good - vantage point and easy access. Provides entry for up to 15 pax. Please be forewarned that a guest may want to get a platinum stamp which is equal to 2 gold pax, so make sure everyone gets a gold stamp. Obviously a platinum stamp allows them to go to the platinum tables but if you are going to maximize the number of entries, this is going to create an unwanted problem.

Was it a large disco with the dance floor sunken down so it looks like an arena seating ?

I was in one a few years ago, though I was too drunk .. and my local friends dragged me there .. remember the attention I got from the baklas ..

You have to go up a stair to reach the Disco. On Left side is the beer or bar counter and right side all the tables and then further down the dance floor. If you walk behind the stair, it is actually open air area with more tables and beside the open area is another flight of stair to go up to the next level. It is open air disco or beer garden concept. No A/C.

Cant remember if the dance floor is sunken down but there sure is a lot of Bakla and Gays man. I don't think I will go again unless I have a few 'escorts' with me... hehe

I'll be travelling to Manila over the weekend and staying at Riviera Mansion hotel, as recommended by seniors in this thread.

May I know if I'll be able to watch BPL soccer matches; Man U vs Liverpool in my hotel? If not, is there any sports bar in Malate where I can watch the "LIVE" matches.

Also, may I know how much they charge for a pre-paid sim card, which I presume I can buy from seven-eleven. I reckoned I need to key in "0" before the phone number in order to contact to my gal, right?

Sorry for my "newbie" questions. Any advise is highly appreciated.

For BPL: I don't remember if the cable tv in rivera carries BPL - you can ask them - if you cannot find, I would rather head to Heckle and Jeckle at P Burgos .. Makati
