$10,000 is not much these days. It is very small as inflation is record 6%.

Now even $5000 qualifies for 3 room flat. Last time maximum was $3000.

It shows how small our money has become.

Low or high depends on profession. Lawyers, doctor or auditor will have higher salary band than the rest. Therefore the range you had mentioned does not really paint a good pic.

The list below is base on civil service standard and latest civil service pay raise this month.

Remember Ministers must always be in high bracket.

Remember Directors and department heads must always be in medium bracket.

These brackets of high and medium pay are necessary as given by government is :
to prevent corruption, prevent talent from leaving public sector and Ministers job is high risk due to appraisal every 5 years which could lose their job.


Low income per year : $0 to $ 200,000
Medium income per year : $ 200,999 to $2 million (Dept Head pay)
High income per year : $2 million ++ to $5 million (Ministers to President's Pay)

Low - <$2499
Middle income - $2500 - $4999
Upp Middle - >$5000 - $9999
High Income - >$10000
