Breaking News !

There is another raid currently in progress in Fields Ave. This time it is the Equus bar (fka Fantasy) that is being raided. As usual the manager, staff and mamasans are loaded up into the jeepneys. But this time the pickings are not so good as only 2 jeepneys are backed up to the bar entrance and still cannot fill both with a full load. :)

Fields was quiet tonight prior to the raid so I guess the alert system has its use in keeping the bargirls notified of the impending raids.

On happier note, confirm Walking Street Bars no raid tonite. Whole street filled with Big Bikes Expo. No space for jeepneys! 😁

That's not true. Equus bar was raided. The raid began at 9pm and they took away the "younger looking" girls in 2 jeepneys.

Btw, the word is out that there will be weekly "raids" beginning now until April due to Obama's coming visit to the PI. There may even be a really BIG operation to clean up Fields & Perimeter as I understand that the former Clark/Subic bases are on the President's itinery. All the bars are really careful now and keeping their noses close to the ground for any available intel.

These are tough times for the bars. Not only do they have to endure the raids from the authorities, the criminals are also targeting them now. This week alone there has been 2 armed robberies targeted at the bars. The 1st armed robbery occurred in friendship town but details are not forthcoming as the bar that was robbed was Korean owned.

The other happened at Midnight Rock was robbed 2 days ago by 4 armed men. They struck after Dave's sellout show as the crowd was leaving. Dave and the cashier had guns pointed to their heads and the security guard was coshed unconscious and had his gun taken by the robbers. Thank God only the takings were lost and no lives were lost.

More crime news from AC :)

For those who like to travel by bus from Manila - AC - Manila......... be alert !
A Victory Liner bus travelling from Manila to Dau in AC was boarded by 5 armed men and all the passengers had their valuables relieved at gunpoint. Both foreigners and locals on board were not spared as they took everything of value from everyone.

And last week a First Coach Tourbus ferry locals from Manila to Subic was similarly waylaid by 4 armed gunmen.

If anyone of you happened to encounter the armed gunmen..... do not resist just give them what they want and live another day. Your life is more important than your money or valuables.

It seems security is a big issue in PI.. highway robbery in broad day light is unthinkable in present day... and arm robbery of bars and pubs...
