Do NOT agree.

Yes, if all you want to do is to cheong - but IMHO, Phuket offers a bit of everything to make it a great place to go on a great all-round holiday.

Balance between some acceptable mongering in Patong/individual bars etc dotted all over the island AND superior normal tourist pursuits - Spectacular beaches, entertainment, shopping, golfing, dining etc.

Depends on individual... for me I won't go to a particular city just for sex. As I am in BKK, there are countless of entertainment joints to go else travel 2 hours to Pattaya. If I want sea and beach, I can head to Rayong, Trat, Samet, Koh Chang.... I am still trying to convince myself to head down south to Phuket.

Please allow me to help you to convince yourself!

Phuket is after all another "once in a lifetime place" to go to; but IMHO, you'll fall in love with the Pearl of the Andaman Sea - as I did many eons ago - once you spend a bit of time there!

Plenty of really great things to do during the day and at night, Patong is always there; but I many times instead just prefer to go to the "neighbourhood bars" dotted all over the island and where its not quite as raunchy, pushy or even "professional" as is the case with Patong and most other "entertainment zone" establishments in Thailand.
And as an aside, where from experience I'm more likely to get a "friend" who is not shaved. Hate those plucked chicken nookies

To be frank, I also never step my leg to Phuket before. :D I've been to south, Nakon si thammarat, & Samui.

Been to many provinces in Thailand but haven't been to Phuket. :D

If ask why, maybe last time keep on hearing Phuket is another sex destination for the farangs and when I know farangs likes to go there, it's just turn me off. :D

Pattaya does offer something similar.... The whole stretch of Pattaya is from North, Central, South and Jomtiem.... further Sattahip and so on.... I been to a few "neighbourhood bars" there :D Next reason :D

At Swampy, lookout for 'idle' gates (with 'a' suffix like C2a). But small monkey rooms with standing room likely only.

If you got pass to C&P Lounge (not airline lounge), there's a special smoking room up escalator to next floor (part of lounge). Quiet with view (and a handy extinguisher :p).

If you are connecting as in domestic terminal, NO smoking rooms. But did see ah tiongs don't give a shit at toilet area:cool:

PS: Novotel Phenchit -good corner location on main suk, just next to BTS. And conveniently minutes away from Nana's sins. Used to stay at Aethos 200m in soi. Liked that stretch with nice classy 4 Seasons and hiso mall. Across you got the Embassy row.

My first and last visit was on a bus transit overnight stop to Bkk from SG and when Phuket wasn't a tourist island yet. Just imagine how long ago and never went back again till now. Maybe, one of this day later.:)

Yes, if you just go to Patong or read only about Patong.

Locals and guys in the know - like those who posts quite regularly on the Phuket thread like cOOlsOul etc - knows where to go for the best quality and experience. These places are a stark difference from Patong and the "Darkies" that are the favorites of the farangs are NOT to be found there.

OTH, no, Phuket is actually NOT a great sex destination - there are others way better places to go to if all you want is sex. But it is a great OVERALL destination for those of us who has a bit more time, prefer to mix "some sex" with other vacation pursuits and don't really mind having to pay a bit more to get precisely what we want.
