We are not telling you to not take any money .. take some money .. and you can bring in upto 10,000 peso .. plus some S$ - then again, if you are comfortable doing ATM withdrawals, pay for room by CC, go for it .. still, make sure you don't land peso-free and scout for a fixer to find a money changer .. before you find your sea legs, be prepared ..

the Western Union thing is an option thrown about once in a while ..

Simple suggestion ?

Change 300 $, split them in your wallet and keep them seperately, and then bring along another 1,000 S$ (for example) and that should be enough ..

I put old key pouch / coin pouch inside the unused pockets..... taped inside these empty pouches are several mini razors positioned that their blades will cut anyone that open the pouches. :D

I dun bother if someone puts his hand into my pocket and runs away with these pouches coz I know they will get their "reward" later. :p

WU withdrawal is full amount lump some. quite a few in fields convennient locations. think one is opp magarita station.

actually no need so troublesome. if u hv atm card w the cirrus logo can withdraw from atm here in philipines w the cirrus logo. make sure u activate oversea withdrawal function at atm in spore. charges are 200p per withdrawal of 10 000p plus wat your spore bank charge usually $5.

if u very regular in philipines,
best is open a spore citi bank account no charges levied for withdrawal at one citibank atm location at mcarthur highway only. withdrawal at other atms charges apply.

u will lose out abt 1.5% on exchange rates compared w money changer w atms.
