LOCAL YOUTUBERS PULL EPIC PRANK ON ILLEGAL CIGARETTE SELLERS IN GEYLANG

Local YouTube Pranksters from MerlionTV released a new video showing an epic prank that they pulled on several illegal cigarette sellers in Geylang.

The youngsters approached the cigarettes sellers in Geylang posing as buyers and received quotations on the prices of the contraband cigarettes.

They then proceeded to speak into their earpiece microphones saying that they have confirmed the suspect as if they were undercover police officers.

They used common code words used by police in such operations.

Another young man would then run toward the contraband seller.

The youtube uploaders also explained that they had not been impersonating police officers and at no time did they claim to be police officers.

The prank was pulled at Geylang, hottest red light district in Singapore.

These are just regular folks eking a living and providing a risky but valuable service to normal people who cannot afford the high taxes on life's simple pleasures. What they do is of course illegal and the penalty is high so its seriously WTF trying to prank these poor criminals.

I don't think the pranksters realise that in countries like USA, where they prank law enforcement officers and various civilians, is that the reason they don't prank those dealing with illegal activities is because in the event they don't take the prank well, they won't hesitate to hunt them down and make them pay for their tasteless joke.

Civilians can shrug it off and walk away, while law enforcement officers can't legally fight back unless they were committing a crime.


I don't think these kids have thought it through carefully what they got themselves into.

There are people who do this kind of job and put their kids through uni.
Life is hard.

Consider if chance were given in their childhood will they do better and be a better person than these pranksters.

Come on, normal folks don't sell contraband cigs. Normal ppl get normal jobs.

if the pranksters get beaten one day then so be it. but dun try to buy sympathy for the sellers. they are criminals.

Truly, our youngsters are getting arrogant, they don't realised the Foreign Workers selling these get their stock from syndicates? some are even working for them. 初生之犊不怕虎，没见过坏人。

Well, we are the 2nd safest nation according to straits times, narrowly losing out to Japan, but I guess the video show us to the dumbest. Even in Japan, the local people know of the Yakuza.

I have personally seen how a few young Japanese punks were treated by a member of the Yakuza after he caught them staring at him and his missing little finger. Looking back it was quite funny, he slapped the punks, made them kneeled and kick their head, while scolding them...class act
