Upon reaching the place, I realized it was actually a poorly built little bamboo hut. I followed the Thai sergent into the hut and was surprised to see a young girl ( about 18 or 19 years old ba ) sitting on a thin mattress on the floor. 2 of her toes were cut and blood were flowing out slowly. As I could hardly spoke a word of thai at that time, luckily the thai sergent was there to assist. After cleaning & dressing up the cuts , I advised the father to bring his daughter to the camp medical center to change the dressing. While sipping the cup of water which the father offered, there was some exchange of thai words amongst them. All three of them were sort of looking at me while conversing and I noticed the girl look a bit shy at that time. I then asked the thai sergent what they are talking about ???....izzit about me ??? The thai sergent then said the girl father would like to marry off his daughter to me !!!!!
As he was laughing when he was saying this, I thought it was just a joke , laughed together with them and politely turned down the offer. Haiz.....how I wish I could understand thai language at that time ......to be continue..........
