I am thinking of putting together some sort of guide to Seoul if people are interested in navigating anma and maybe even club or officetel scenes. You do really need some sort of Korean language facility to be able to fully experience Seoul. Or any part of Korea. But a shared document with some translations and phoneticized PPP hrases could go a long way. A mobile app would be even better.
The scene is certainly not dead. Far from it. You just need to be able to negotiate an ever-changing environment which even natives have a hard time doing. Another factor is, to be frank, xenophobia. Korean girls can be weird about foreigners and they are quite different from Singaporean girls in this respect. Generally speaking, Korean women tend to be somewhat Asia-centric and less open to Western men.
If anyone has suggestions on a good format for a guide to newbs, I am all ears.
