Let me say something that is fair. Just because you find a parking lot doesn't mean that Bro Diab is lying. Yours is the next slot so it is one hour later. Parking situation is very dynamic and empty lots might have opened up during that time especially if the rain has eased up or stopped as many drivers would have been waiting for the heavy rain to stop if they do not have an umbrella on hand.
As for the phone exchange, since we are the third party and do not hear both sides of the story, I will refrain from making judgement.
