Actually there are no hard & fast rules on the comparison between Agoda and booking directly e.g. the one that I have been staying for the past few years (& are still staying now) is cheaper when booking directly as they already know me by heart
sometimes it is cheaper and sometimes may be costlier so it is a goot practice to check both
The thing I hate about Agoda is the silly $50 discount that they always email you but I can never find regardless of whichever cuntry or hotels I checked as it says they are not available/applicable, similarly for the discount to use for the next trip after the current booking = I still cannot find this function to click when paying for the current booking
they should just make it simple like last time where you can just simply apply the discount code upon payment
