I recommend that when writting numbers, it is better to use "1,2,3,..." instead of "mot, hai, ba...". This is to reduce confusion because we normally do not write with the tonal signs on top of the words.

One typical example is when you want to say "7 o'clock", it is better to write as "7 gio" instead of "Bay gio" because the word "bay" with the tone "^" will mean "now" instead of "7".
