New World itself not gal friendly. Several of the smaller hotels around that area are more likely to be but no guarantees. You can refer to the hotel list posted few weeks ago by bro vkillers for some suggestions

A few salons around New World area and several on Bui Thi Xuan 5-10 min walk away. The backpacker district(Pham Ngu Lao, Bui Vien etc.) is also within walking distance of New World. Lots of pubs there. Specifically what else were you looking for? Bros here may be able to help if you are more specific. How long are you staying in HCM?
