Re: Vietnam - HCM

For reference, the Lien An Hotel(37-41 Le Anh Xuan) was ger friendly on my stays there. If you are a single guy staying, the bellboy/bellman will undoubtedly ask you directly if you want a massage girl to come to your room later. US$50 for ST, US$100 for LT. One Samster told me he had an alright experience with it. My experience was not good but your mileage may vary. My ger wasn't pretty in the face and wore lots of makeup(4/10 overall though she had a nice cute body) and not very co-operative and in the end I ended up bringing her down to change. As it was quite late and I had to work the next day, I declined the 2nd girl who was a slight improvement in looks. The desk manager offered to bring me out another night to choose a better girl but I ended up not taking him up on the offer as I was always out late with the other samsters pretty much every night.

There are three hair wash salons near to the hotel. The one next door I went to twice and had two very hot girls who I saw later on so I didn't get to try. One dressed in reg clothes had a great CFM look and the other who I saw using the computer at the back was just drop dead gorgeous. However, as the front entrance is quite small, only a handful of ger's sit at the front(probably on rotation) and the rest hang out in the back at the computers hidden from view until you get to the hair wash section! Did have a wonderful massage(one of the best I've had in a salon) on one of my trips here. Tips at salons are usually 50K-100K depending on your preference and much you enjoyed it. I occasionally tip higher if I had a really great time which I sometimes do as I love the salon experience here.

Also had a great time at the salon across the street next to the Singaporean restaurant(on the left side if you are facing the restaurant). The ger was very friendly and ended up staying with her for over 2 hours. Regarding the Singapore restaurant next door I know that some don't like this restaurant or the owner but in honesty, I ate here 3 or 4 times and got take away once and I always found the food to be good quality and reasonably priced. The yoghurt drinks are quite good too. Just my opinion though.

It's impossible to understate the importance of language here. While body language can and is used very often here, knowing how to speak Vietnamese will exponentially enhance the amount of fun and overall experience you have here. It's quite fun yet enviable at the same time to watch some of our more experienced members in the language such as Reaper and Carrot really flirt with the girls we meet. In terms of making them feel comfortable and making them laugh, there's no substitute for being able to speak the language. I've only been trying to learn for a few weeks now but there's no question that I have many many long haired walking talking reasons to do so. A good English-Vietnamese/Vietnamese-English pocket dictionary is a must and is a useful and fun conversation starter with gers. I'm also listening to some Pimsleur language MP3's and I find this a good way to learn over the usual audio language lessons.
There's also a Tieng Viet lover's thread in the Adult Discussions section of this forum that has a lot of useful words in it.

Having now set up a HCM base of operations to work from when I'm in town(a big thanks to Reaper for his help), I look forward to many future nights of fun in this wonderful city with the great people I've met so far.

Cheers,
Ice
