A bit more to report from that list after some more running around last night.

De Nhat -- nothing resembling a bar or club in that area. The address given on the list has one of those typical sidewalk cafes with folding chairs and low to the ground aluminum tables where you can get cafe da for 8000. Across the street is the De Nhat restaurant and swimming pool, but again, nothing of interest in terms of nightlife or girls there.

007 in Go Vap -- could not find anything like this up there on the street mentioned, Nguyen Oanh. No one in the area had heard of it.

Finally, there is a Paradise 2 in D7 at 333 Nguyen Thi Thap street. Didn't go there but visited Paradise 1 in Phu Nhuan and was told it's open.

Quen Quen pool hall is at 61A Hoang Van Thu, near Nguyen Kiem (name of Hai Ba Trung street when you cross the bridge going north).

I'm curious to know if anyone understands the following comments and might translate....

=> Đóng cửa!

=> Sang quán! Hết!

=> Đập banh xác!

Last, if my joke from a couple pages back offended anyone, then very sorry about that. That wasn't my intention. I noticed one prominent poster here retired a couple weeks ago, the first time I saw that here, and which I think was a real loss to this forum, and then right after that it seemed like a number of other people decided to do the same. I have no idea what's prompted any of these actions, so was only trying to gently make light of the 'trend' -- didn't mean to personally put anyone down with that.

Finally, last night I stopped in at a bar on Le Thanh Ton called Bin Bin. It's one of those Hello Darling bars, this one seems to cater to east Asian clientele but also westerners and others. Anyway, the current staff has lots of new fresh faces, some quite pretty. The key at this place is to head immediately up the stairs to a room (go straight up, and act like you know what you are doing!) and within a couple minutes they'll bring all the girls up for you to choose from. This bar must have the best lineup at the moment of any of these bars.
