im afraid that till this very minute there is neither a confirmation on the closure of entertainment premises nor when the month of ramadan actually starts,hiks!!
the central commitee for islamic affairs(MUI) are still having their meeting in jakarta now...and hopefully a decision will be made today..please be patient.do note that they(MUI) still paddles their boat out to sea for sighting of the 'new moon' to confirm the end of ramadan(fasting)and hence hari raya idul fitri.its a age old traditions (1434 odd years to be excact)
thus its not suprise that most of the joints were shut the last few days as most were not told when the month of ramadan actually starts and "total shutdown' begins..just playing safe by shuting.note to hardcore cheongsters that most of the entertainment venues still operates but closes slightly early(12 - 1am) outside the 'total shutdown' peroid.
some activities besides bonking n ozzing during the month of ramadan;
try visiting some of the 300odds bazzar,known locally as pasar kaget, around batam where locals purchase ready2eat;for their fast breaking,clothings etc.the bazzaar normally starts around 3.30pm and ends 6.15pm.do take care of your valuables as some are extremely crowded..
