Remind me of a incident that happen 7 years ago while i was in vietnam.I was there for almost one month that time and usually i will have my breadfast at one of the cafe.
Every morning i will see a young girl wearing her vietnamese traditional hat (those cone type) and carrying her newspaper to approach or walk around the street to sell.as the place i was staying is mostly ang mo,she sell mostly foreign media newspaper.i always smile at her and use my hand to signal to her that i dont want.
On my last day,as my flight back to sg was afternoon,so as usual i sat there and eat something before going to the airport.i saw her again and as i was going back to sg,i was thinking of giving her some of my dong,should be around 30k dong to her to help her.
i signal her for her to come over,she happily came.Then i pass her the dollars,she show me all the papers and signal to me which paper i want.i use my hand to signal to her that i dont need the paper and she can keep the money.she seem like dont understand and insist me on choosing that paper i want.i signal to her again and smile at her that she can keep the money.
she put back my money on the table and left quickly feeling disappointed.i sat there and was thinking why she did not accept my money.my thinking of her is she is selling her newspaper and she will only accept my money if i took the newspaper or else she dont want my money..i come to realised that she have pride and dignity even though she know she is poor.
btw she is pretty and cute,now should be 20 plus.i hope she is well now,either
marry,working,schooling or with her family.i did not see her after i went back 1
month later
or else maybe she is my wife now
