please tell me what can i do?

Till today then i know someting went very wrong in my family

many months ago i noticed there are a few mobile's bills under my mom's name.

I questioned her .. she told she helping friends to sign the line. I warned her NOT TO DO this again.

last few weeks.. i received call from lawyer (m1) asking for the payment.
then i got 3 singtel bills. OK then i settled all for her. I questioned her again How come so much? her replied was her friend again? I told her to get back all the sim cards. till now NONE. Singtel subs was terminated when i settled the payments.


LAst night Father n mother was quarreling just becos my dad came home abit late last night. So NO matter what i normally i still side my mom cos she is a woman n she is my most beloved late grandma's daughter.

Then this morning again they quarrel when i was sleeping ... i woke up then shut them up.

Then my father dug out a old things which happened last yr.

he said" Son, what u know? Your mother took all almost my saving $00K and ur young brother;s money, 6 thousands and lent it to someone. " I called it woman B.

Woman B was introduced my her friend, Woman A who stay near my place i cant recall which bloody cheebye woman.... So my dad did asked b4 woman B for help to get back the money for A. till now only $4000 recovered.

Boodly hell i alway the last person to Know all kind of news.. even my late grandma died of cancer i came to know after she passed away on the 2nd night!!!

Now, according to my father... there isnt any IOU!
How am i going to pursuit this matter if i were to make police report?

can consider this is a cheating case? cheating will not have any IOU....

(Whole story still unclear to me... i yet to find out more from my family cos I am too sad n too angry to talk abt it)

So let's say there is no IOU... what can i do to recover the amount?

Don't know whether it helps or not. I read somewhere before, as long as the amount you lent (without IOU) is above XX (i can't remember) figure, you have all the rights to use legal action against that person.

Maybe I can try asking my ex-lawyer friend, see whether he knows anything.

The amount is 10k, it will be classified as Fraudulent Debtor by the Police. However, they will still advise you to take up a civil suit against that person. There is no gurantee that you will get your $ back and you might even end up burning a hole in your pocket.

EVEN WITH IOU,at most u can make her bankrupt by hiring a lawyer to sue her(u pay the $$ urself). Then they will go her house paste one paper say she bankrupt.

Then after a few years, if she still don pay u back the money u can reapply to make her maintain her bankrupt status.(i think need money again.chao chee bye!)

fuck lo... that woman really a chao cheebye.... i was thinking now .. NO money to pay .. then go n jump off the buidling. Normally I dun even want to kill an ant but this really nearly driven my parents to death.. SO i would rather that woman to die instead.

i cant go out now.. wait my father comes back n if they fight again!!!

It depends on how complicated the case is, how long the case will take. It could be thousands of dollars or even more. Don't forget that there is no IOU and that person can always claimed that the loan never took place or that she had already return the loan. There is no concrete evidence of the loan. What you have is just circumtancial and hearsay evidence.

civil case not as easy as it seems, takes a long time. even if the court pass a verdict. u might not be able to get much back, considerin the fact that u have to foot ur own lawyer fees. todate, i spend more than 10k, pursuing a case which i'm still fighting more than 3 years. making a report is only a grain in the ricesack, it's like for recording purposes.. it's really a loselose situation.
unless u have concrete proof of acceptant of cash. if the whole incident have happened over a long period of time, it's even harder to get any proof. the only comfort is knowing that fellow(s) causing all the damage/hurt are being punish(ed) by the authority/law. however when that happens, it might not justify the amount u have spend.
....it's not easy to go thru the trial, jus imagine the amount of questioning, fingers pointing, laughter, giggles in the court room... and if u have watch movies showin court trial, it's somethin like that... it's not u alone, ppl involved will be required to attend trial too, when necessary.
take up the case, and be prepare to fork out $$. it's a rich mans' game.
poor ppl like me is strugglin to go thru the case, i hope u r in a better position to do this. take step by step, make a report. with the report consult professional advice, then decide if it's worth, and rem to ask about the fee/payment involved. hope it helps

I think the first and most urgent task is to get the relationship of your parents back on track. You may want to invite them for counselling so that both parties have a chance to speak their mind to a neutral party who could possibly offer them some solution for reconcilliation.

If the woman really owe your family a large sum of money, she may not want to return it. Suing her and making police report can possibly frighten her into paying but there is no certainty. She may just play along and said that the money was for some services that she rendered to your family, something that she sell to your mum or that she did not borrow money from you. Very tough to get to the bottom of things with substantial proof.

It is very tough to counter people who are untruthful and have negative intent. I have personally experience this type of people both in real life and in the forum too. Basically, this type of people has no sense of shame and when you are up against them, it is an uphill battle. It is not easy for a third party to decipher the truth after a long barrage of exchanges. Hence, a court battle with claims and possibly counter claims, real and otherwise will be a taxing experience and mentally draining for you.

Well, I suppose the useful thing to do right now is to get your parents reconciled and then move on.

Go to the police and say like a cheating case for the police to investigate.
