Damn Worried

I just had sex with a masseur in a health centre... It's my first time and I really really regret doing it. I am also damn worried that I may contract STDs even though I had the condom on.... SB bros please advise me what are the chances of me getting the STDs.

The probability of catching HIV is remote and the chances of catching bacterial STDs which are transmitted via the exchange of body fluids is low. (provided you did not have an unprotected blow job).

However, condoms do not offer much protection against viral STDs which are transmitted via skin to skin contact in areas which are not covered by the condom... eg the base of the shaft of the penis and the scrotum area.

If you received unprotected oral sex, your chances of catching bacterial STDs such as gonorrhea and syphilis increase significantly.

For piece of mind, get yourself tested on a regular basis.

Re: Damn Worried

Thank you sammyboy for the prompt reply. I am relieved that the chances of me contracting the HIV is low. Fortunately, I also did not have unprotected oral sex with the masseur. Nonetheless, I will go for HIV test to allay my fear completely.

However, I am worried to have learnt that condom does not effectively protect one against sexually transmitted bacterial infections, which can spread via skin-to-skin contact. What is the window period for symptoms of such infections to be presented?

This will defly be my last time to be engaged in casual sexual activities of any form or . It's just not worth it....I can only pray that it's not too late for me to regret now.

I think the chances of you getting genital STD is quite low if the condom is intact.

But on the contrary, if she has oral STD (which is hard to tell just by looking at her and that the symptoms appear inside the mouth) and she gives you a BJ, then it can spread to your genitals.

Better check it out, no shame going to the doctor and ask.

good luck!

Re: Damn Worried

Bro,

If you are worried, go for a test. Its always better to be safe than sorry.

I believe that the DSC clinic in Kelantan Lane is relatively cheaper than going to a private doctor's clinic.

You may consider going there if costs is an issue and perhaps, to some extent, it is not convenient to go to your family physician...!

A friend of mine, fall off from 5th storey, landed on the ground and did not die... we call that an ACCIDENT!

The next day... same thing happened to him.. again he did not die.. actually now he know he could sort of survive since he did not die the last time... so we call it an INCIDENT...

The third day.. same thing happened... now we call it HABIT..

So go screw a few more masseurs and get used to it and stop worrying lah... you scary cat!!

"Advice" is a non countable noun; you do not add an "s" to make it plural.

"Advice" is like "Rice". You say... "Please pass me the Rice." You don't say "Please pass me the rices" because "Rice", like "advice", is a non countable noun.

There are many other examples. To test your knowledge of non countable nouns, go to English Language Quiz - Countable or Non-countable Nouns (I-TESL-J) and take the test.

Re: Damn Worried

This thread got me thinking. I have screened for AIDS and negative. I feel I should get more checks done. What are the other more easily transmittable STDs I ought to check for ?

I think first of all, you need to understand STDs. Other than herpes and HIV (mainly), most STDS are treatable.
