Becos garbagement say it's discretionary those small n medium companies really think its discretionary so even if make money also never give!!

But it's actually not discretionary cos if u based on British system of weekly pay, u need 13th month to be fairly paid for working entire year. NOT being paid extra OK.

I think garbagement is always got 13th month pay ok

If you are him, you'll also spend your last 100k or borrow 100k to buy advertising than use the money to pay bonus.

Cos advertising may make 200k. But pay bonus, confirm he won't get anything back. U buaysong he'll just hire a younger n cheaper replacement

Your company staff turnover must b high. If not high there must b some good reason you are staying

However I remembered in one of the previous company, December they oso did not pay the 13th month bonus.. the boss did not say whether the company perform bad or wad.. we did not get the bonus bcos upfront in the company handbook it specified the company will not give any 13th month bonus at all. I only after joined the company and rad the handbook then I know.

As some bro already said thanks to that we have a job should be good enough even though there is no bonus.. bcos if we lost job, dun say no bonus, even the monthly pay oso gone.. so when think back, when we have job, we still better than those jobless. So dun worry, be happy.

These days got any bonus you're lucky. Unless you work in gov company, gov affiliate or bank/finance sector - you'll be lucky to get 13th month bonus. Our company split up 13 month bonus - give half for Christmas and half for CNY. Not so bad.

As for the argument that 13 month bonus is not a bonus but a must. Sadly this will never be seen as so. Companies will argue that your monthly pay reflects your so called "lost" days. Sigh.

You don't get it.

Bonus is to reward good performance or to thank staff for staying n not quiting.

If no bonus , means your performance is not valued . So even if you're top performer, u might as well just do enough. N spend your time looking for better job or do sideline.

Those companies which split bonus is also fucked up. They do it to prevent ppl leaving. Cos if u get your full bonus at end of the year, you'll leave ASAP after getting bonus.

So they're fucking the staff cos instead of giving staff what they're entitled to one lump sum, they give piece by piece.
