Anyway is under control of the man if he wanna gets marry..he can rejects it if they have kids. In the states there many such conditions whereby parents has not sign the dotted line. Marriage is just the dotted line ...it is really so important with so much conditions. Tax rebate not much just only few thousands for each child. If you are above 35 can buy HDB under single scheme. If not stay with parents or rent a house. Most important thing in marriage is communications, understanding, love, patients , tolerance. The business contract can be broken off anytime.

LOL marriage is not just slavery for man. it's also slavery for woman hao bu hao. Actually depends on what husband and wife you get or have lah.. If both are good considerate partners , marriage is great what. And there's no need to bother about what charter or what law. Those are only problems when you want out.

Before and after marriage is total different...Woman will use sex to tie down the man before marriage, after they gain what they want (marriage) things will change .......10 out of 10 married guys agrees too. Man will have to always seek for sex from OC.....Man will lose out in terms of woman charter when they found to cheat . Woman will expect man to carry the burden of money , household chores ,children. Modern woman will not cook and take care of the family as they busy working too . Blame it on the feminism for so many divorce too.

Hope don't mind me say this. Marriage is a covenant. A covenant is something stronger than a contract or signed agreement.

In the old, sworn brothers make a covenant by cutting their palm, joining their hands at the bleeding palm in a sign of unity. It is a public pronouncement of whats yours is mine, whats mine is yours. Our blood runs together. I will defend your family with my life and vice versa for as long as I live. There is a shedding of blood to seal this covenant.

Likewise the covenant of marriage has the shedding of blood. The breaking of her hymen. The blood is to seal this covenant of unity in foreverness.

You can call it slavery. Likewise to her. It was designed to be such. Do not enter into a covenant if you are not aware of how binding it is. The problem is not with the institution of marriage. The problem is young people treat marriage as a convenience for free sex, love, etc and then find out it is anything but convenient.

Its hell for.... Good. The rules for marriage are so archaic that it seems more like measures to makan the man. It has to be equitable. Both sides go into together. Why not a Man charter to cover the man rights also? And i mean legitimate rights.

The whole thing is just a mess. Not to forget that how a marriage develops depends much on the villagers on both sides of the fence. I rather die than to serve the interests of both sides.

At present both sexes are equal now... this stupid charter ought be changed making it fair to both sexes. Man should also be entitled to alimony if it's the woman who walk out or cheated.

The woman charter was only fair in the 80s n early with all or most as housewfe
Once woman started to work n get financially independent n opened out to males females working env ... they dum need protection anymore as woman can even do better then male ... time has change but our law stay too bad .... tat IMHO

Modern man is very tough..woman expects man to have money, career , attention , time etc......Most sg gals I know will ask me how much I earning...sigh...Law dont protects the man here.

Whether olden days or modern days, once married and resigned to your fate, keep your vows and act your dues, nothing will go wrong.

Not that nowadays people are smarter than 'last time', or the charter protects woman more than man, it's all in the mind, playing mind fuck games.

You need two hands to clap, a bond of trust and love needs to be nurtured and endured, persevere to the end of time. It is because of the ease of just getting married and then later getting divorced, because of irreparable differences, behaviours, habits etc.

When you plant a sapling, it needs care, concern, love and affection to make it grow, same for marriage, if you cannot survive till the end, why start it in the first place?
