Economy Slow down?

Confirmed bad economy coming next year. now is only beginning. Things are not that BAD yet.

China is in reform so growth will not be like last time. EU will b pretty flat for yrs to come. U.S. is in better shape as they have clawed themselves out of the woods but sustainability is the key word here

For the rest of the world, including spore will have to adjust to meet the world of slower growth

Yes - unlike in the past, just about ALL economies are now inter-liked.
Many nations, including Singapore, had been successful in the past as they could insulate from the rest of the world and isolate themselves in their own monetary/fiscal policies; no more now.

The level of official AND unofficial debt vs GDP in China is a sight to behold...and be deathly afraid of!

Europe I worry will not just stay flat but fall off a cliff when the Greeks can no longer financially sustain/the populace cannot tolerate anymore... and Spain, Portugal, Italy etc also fall like dominos.

US is piling up so much debt that QE must at least be tapered very soon... or risk having their future generations become slaves to their debt too.

Scary.

I think if one go in to play w the correct mindset then the risk of dropping into the kc trap will b lower. Of cos u never know for sure . Also if u dun frequent them then the risk is also lower

True the real debt level of China no one will ever know as their are not transparent. But I feel China will correct itself though it will take a long time n a painful one . The rest of the world just have up adjust

The Greek issue is more of political than economic one . Eu can leave Greek to die n let other countries see it as an example. But political n social n the block as a whole is more at stake than the economy drop off of Greece

As for US, their debt is always there not an issue. They are still the only super power in this planet. Usd will always b the most widely used n priced currency . U.S. Print money is called QE lol. Others can't follow

China is not immune to world affairs but there are some quarters who think that China is already one step ahead of others. China's announcement that it is developing or redeveloping the old Silk Route is not some fanciful thinking. Granted that it has political implications, but the economic windfall for the next 20 to 50 years will be enormous. Some of us may not live long enough to see how China will grow, both politically and economically but there is no reason for us not to jump (or try to jump) on the bandwagon now. Think of monkey go west.

With the amount of money to be made here, there is every reason for the PRC FLs to come.

Slightly off topic, but I thought I would share something I learnt from a PRC freelance ML recently on what she makes.

She charges $70 for an hour's work (no need to think to hard what she does). When I booked her one night (late hours), she told me she already had 7 customers before me, so adding me would be 8, and she was calling it a day, $70 x 8 = $560. She also told me on a typical day she would have anything between 5 to 10 customers. Even at the lower end of 5, she would be getting $350 per day. Let's say she only works 20 days a month, which means 20 x $350 = $7,000. Of course she has to pay rent, utilities, food, etc, but $7,000 per month is not too bad. Remember that $7,000 is at the lower end. If she has more than 5 customers per day and if she works more than 20 days a month, go figure out how much she can make.

Is that a sufficient reason for them to keep coming back?
