Good to see Multi-racial dating finally

This is not a completely sexual thing but just wanted to say that I've observed more and more mixed race couples in Singapore. And I don't mean SPGs and white guys dating our locals mixing. For a long time I feel it was quite taboo to see Chinese bros and gals with other races. Maybe a bit more accepted in Malays and Indians.

But now it's quite common. No offense to anyone but when during my army days in the mid 2000s, you can only see Indian or Malay bros with fat chinese gals. Basically the fugly ones we don't want. Maybe they just like more meat but my Indian bros prefer any type of gals. Can't speak for Malay bros as the ones who are my friends usually date within race. My indian bros like the white gals too. Haha!

Anyway now it's common to see SYTs with any race. This is good I think. Shows that our country is evolving and people are more accepting. I know we still have our racial issues and xenophobia to PRCs, Pinoys, White people etc. But it's good to see locals mixing to actually create a Singapore identity.

Just my two cents. Don't mean to offend anyone cos race is always sensitive. Beautiful to see different people together. Young people are our future and good to see we are moving forward.

Good observation bro. I am actually the product (or child, rather) of a mixed marriage between an Indian man and a Chinese woman. My mum is by no means fugly or a fat chinese girl. I do however, get your general point that Indian guys (not too long ago) went for less attractive Chinese women rather than those local chinese hotties we see on our Instagram feeds.

My dad's observation is that a lot of Indian guys often reject pretty Indian women (school friend, sister's friend or colleague) for unattractive chinese women. I've seen it many times myself and wonder whether they feel the Chinese race as being superior or whether they would rather marry chinese women for the sake of having 'fairer'-skinned children. Or maybe its just love. I mean, if a chinese girl is happy with an Indian man (and vice versa), why not? In fact, my Malaysian friends tell me that its getting increasingly common in Malaysia for Chinese guys to date Indian girls or Malay girls (although its more rare than vice versa). I remember (a few years ago) when I was in London and I saw a Malaysian/Singaporean couple where the guy was Chinese and the girl was Indian and i was quite surprised as I never really saw such a combination in Singapore.

My Chinese mum thinks Indian girls are attractive because of their big eyes and more-defined features. For me, i don't really have a preference but my current gf is Chinese (not from Singapore though). I consider myself both Chinese/Indian rather than half of each race. I do find some mixed Chinese/Indian/Malay girls pretty but the main thing for me is still character. Most of my Chinese guy friends and acquaintances would very much prefer East Asian-origin women (Chinese/Korean/Japanese) than South Asian-origin ones (Indian/Pakistani etc..).

Why don't you obey your mum and date Indian girls.
