Depression Chit Chat/Support Thread

Just thought it might be super helpful to have a thread where members can write about our problems/release our thoughts. Seems like there is a growing number of members that are suffering from depression or are just feeling sad about their lives, careers or are unemployed.

As fellow members, we can help encourage each other positively, hopefully, lift those depressed/negative moods, help each other pull through difficult times, and make people feel generally better.

It can also be a chit chat thread to help us pass these lonely nights where we can't sleep.

Let's help each other out during tough times

I am in a few support group for depression and mental health issues. It is really nice to have a place you can just rant and release all that pent up emotions. And all the encouragement and concern from fellow members are really comforting.

mid 40s.. not married. Goes Massage and GLand to release when its full tank.. aint too sure if its gonna be this way for the rest of my life..

Wana get hitch but sexy gals hard to maintain, Bay Gan gals also tried to play hard to maintain... lotsa teens above 19 makes one feels like drooling but thats about it cos to them u are just an 'uncle'... Way past prime and depression setting in.

I personally don't think mid 40s is way past prime. Getting married poses a different set of challenges too. Supercar and wealth attracts a wrong set of attention and superficial ladies instead unless if you are looking for such.

And no, you are NOT an uncle

Have physical contact with those you care about (no need sex, hugs will do).
Complete small tasks.
Exercise.
Be polite and kind to others.

I try to do the above everyday to keep my depression from coming back.

Watching The Joy of Painting is also very comforting. Almost cry a couple of times listening to Bob Ross.


Thankfully, when I was in depression, my family was supportive.

You must understand and realise the meaning of getting control of your own life

It is very easy to fall into a vicious cycle - your type of cycle, because you are too lonely, friends around you gotten hitched, having children and all

It becomes a trance without you knowing

It is never too late to want to know somebody or want to do something

And of course, ask the right people
Don't go asking the Turtle Head where you can find girls of marriage material

Because we must always ask ourselves if we are the stars to begin with

Hi bro, I’m similar to your predicament. Mid 40s single, no luck with women. Come home from work everyday to 4 walls and feeling lonely & depressed wondering if I would be alone forever. It’s especially heart-wrenching when u see all your friends have settled down with kids or seeing couples in public. I read the statistics more singaporeans are staying single but I look around and it seems I’m the rare few.
